Case Study: Border Security Agency

Challenge:

  • Gather and unify multiple sources of business to business trade information into actual shipment lifecycles
  • Develop and evaluate new methods to identify trusted or suspect goods and conveyances

Solution:

GreenLine Systems created partnerships with private sector companies and data aggregators to bring in a wide range of information from commercial, logistics, and financial activities. GreenLine then used its proprietary applications to integrate and process these diverse data streams to create a unified view of trust, risk and operational details. The GreenLine applications provide analysis of, and visibility into the true point of origin, intermediate ports, the identities of all parties, and other critical information.

Specifically, GreenLine’s Data Pipeline linked disparate transactional documents and reference databases into complete and integrated shipment lifecycles. The Data Pipeline leveraged over 150 cumulative years of supply chain management expertise to make sense of erroneous, incomplete and sometimes conflicting information. The Data Pipeline rationalized and synchronized data into a coherent and accurate description of the handling of each conveyance and its cargo. The Data Pipeline is compatible with a full range of transportation modes including air, rail, ocean, and truck.

GreenLine’s Analysis Workbench provided a flexible environment to apply various risk analytics in combination to create an ability to rapidly develop and model new combinations of data, analysis and outcomes.

GreenLine’s Command Center created a single control space where operational context and risk analysis for each piece of cargo was presented thorough a customizable portal which included global and personal views which highlighted shipments of interest based on these shipments’ risk analysis, and / or event history.

Within 6 months, the customer had acquired a flexible new capability to rapidly develop new techniques for the targeting and analysis of goods and conveyances.
